As part of the series of academic sections organized by the School of Management, the November edition was held on the 17^thday of November, 2018.The event was basically designed to bring together enthusiastic students from school of Management and Finance to acquire knowledge and skills to useStatistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS). This is to provide students an intensive exposure to SPSS and to give them the opportunity to share experiences and share knowledge on application of SPSS as data analysis tool for their studies.This was a two-hour SPSS academic tutorials held from 6.00 to 8.00pm in room 202 of the Sanjiang building.As an academic seminars, expert colleagues fromInstitute of Applied System and Analysis, the Faculty of Applied Sciencesand the School of Finance were invited.

Speaking on this occasion, Mrs. Ann Dodor President of the School of Management, welcomed the colleagues to the seminar. She then invited the first speaker,Mr. Isaac Adjei Mensah (Ph.D. student at the Institute of Applied System and Analysis),who presented the basic principles of SPSS to students.Mr. Isaac Adjei Mensahargued that, SPSS is a powerful tool especially for those who use a primary data source and that this tool offers enormous benefits for data analysis. In addition, he explained in his open address that, it was imperative to learn SPSS and that the tool was simple and easy to use. As the first speaker, he took time to explain to students how to:create a data file and enter data; Definition of variables and modification of the data file; Enter data using Excel, Run a simple regression and performdescriptive statistics.

Right after the presentation of Mr. Isaac Adjei Mensah, it was Mr. Nawaz’s turn to take students through Principal Component Analysis. The programme attracted many participants andmore than fifty students attended the seminar. The students learned a lot and asked that both schools organize more programs of this type.
