The Global Health Research and Public Institute under the auspices of The Department of International Cooperation, National Health Commission, International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of the People’s Republic of China, as part of its High-Level Meeting on China-Africa Health Cooperation, organized the 2nd Global Health Youth Leadership Forum and conference: China-Africa dialogue on health personnel training in Beijing as precursor conference to usher in THE FORUM ON CHINA-AFRICA COOPERATION (FOCAC), BEIJING 2018.

In all 204 delegates were in attendance with 54 head of states and delegates from around the world and Africa particularly-presenting on various themes and concerns that bothered the African and the globe as a whole on health issues. Four School of Management Students from the department of Health Policy and Management: Jonathan Kissi, Ebenezer Larnyo, Geoffrey Bentum-Micah and Yaw Frimpong were amongst the few privileged delegates to attend the conference and presented on the theme “the cultivation mechanism of global health path youth leaders”. Their massive contribution prior to and during the conference won not just the admiration, but the recognition of both the organizers’ and delegates. Mr. Jonathan Kissi, a PhD student under the supervisor-ship of Prof. Dai Baozhen, was amongst the discussants who shared his experience on exploring the growth path of global youth leadership from the perspective of global health practitioners and students. Mr. Ebenezer Larnyo, another PhD student under the guidance of Prof. Dai’s dazzling contributions on the need for international students from Africa in China to cooperate among each other in terms of research and data sharing to help tackle the issue of Global Health in Africa left the participants in no less than a rapturous applause. Excerpts from the submitted Abstracts of the four students were captured in the forum and the organizers’publications.

In all, it was an awesome, successful and an all amazing conference that left much hope for the delegates and all in attendance of an assured bright and “healthy” future for the globe, especially in Africa and China. Mr. Jonathan Kissi, Mr. Ebenezer Larnyo, Mr. Geoffrey Bentum-Micah and Mr. Yaw Frimpong were particularly grateful to the organizers for their recognition for participation in the conference, and to their supervisors; Prof. Dai Baozhen and Prof. Wang Wenxin of the department of health policy and management, School of Management, whose efforts and constructive criticisms saw them been selected for the conference.
